Europa Pool closes for hours after suspected overnight break-in

Europa Pool was closed for a number of hours on Sunday after faeces were found in the water in the morning.

In response to GBC questions, the Government said there appears to have been a break-in overnight. It said the toilets have been damaged, and the kiosk has also been vandalised.

The Government said the faeces were removed, and that as per standard procedure, no swimming was allowed while the water was being cleaned via the normal filtration cycle. The pool was reopened at 4pm.
