Gibraltar launches its first Heatwave Health Alert System

Gibraltar has launched its first Heatwave Health Alert System.

It's been developed in partnership between Public Health, the Ministry for the Environment and the Met Office.

The GHA records excess deaths and increased hospital admissions during intensely hot periods.

A heatwave is currently sweeping Europe, with parts of Spain reporting temperatures over 40 degrees.
