The Government has confirmed recent storms have affected roads, footpaths, street signage, trees and drainage systems.

During the last few weeks of adverse weather, Technical Services has responded to road and footpath closures, rockfalls and other storm-related hazards.

Number Six says the road network has been particularly hit with surface deterioration and potholing. Temporary repairs are already being carried out, with permanent repairs delayed until the weather improves.

As part of the repair programme, Technical Services repaired over twenty damaged areas along Main Street overnight on Monday.

The Government says drainage and sewer infrastructure 'performed perfectly' with none of the usual flooding in high-risk areas including Queensway, Market Place and Wellington Front.
