Man dies after ambulance called to Sandy Bay

A man has died this afternoon after the ambulance service was called to Sandy Bay.

GBC understands the man was carried out of the water by beachgoers and was given CPR.

The ambulance crew arrived at the beach, and took him to St Bernard's Hospital. 

The Health Authority told GBC it did not have any comments to make at this stage, other than to extend its condolences to the family, and to respect their privacy during this difficult time.
