McGrail Inquiry: Lawyer for former Police Commissioner argues Ian McGrail was effectively forced out of his job; says 'all hell broke loose' after James Levy search warrant

The lawyer for former Police Commissioner Ian McGrail has argued he was effectively forced out of his job through an "unfair and shambolic" process.

On Day 3 of the Inquiry, Caoilfhionn Gallagher KC said Mr McGrail did his job without fear or favour.

Caoilfhionn Gallagher KC said “all hell broke loose” after police attempts to serve a search warrant against Hassans senior partner James Levy.

Mr Levy was never charged and denies any wrongdoing.

Ian McGrail’s lawyer has been delivering opening submissions to the Inquiry all morning.
