Nearly half of all tenants in Government rental homes could be in arrears

Nearly half of all tenants in Government rental homes could be in arrears. 

In response to GBC questions, the Government says there are a total of 5123 Government rental homes.

According to the Principal Auditor's report, there were 2351 tenants in arrears on the 31st October 2024.

This would mean 46 percent of Government tenants are in arrears.

It's important to note the figure on the number of rental homes is up to date, whereas the number of tenants in arrears relates to eight months ago.
