Over 500 volunteers took part in this year’s Clean Up the World, removing 10 truckloads and four skips worth of waste and debris from areas all around Gibraltar, including green areas, shorelines, neglected corners of town and underwater sites.
Organiser, Janet Howitt was on Gibraltar Today; she was joined by headteachers Lianne Parral and Gaynor Lester as they discussed the importance of recruiting student volunteers in order to help instill a sense of civic responsibility in younger generations.
