RGP Officer arrested on suspicion of assault

A police constable has been arrested following a violent altercation over the weekend.

The 33 year old, who was off duty, was detained in the early hours of Sunday Morning on suspicion of Assault Occasioning Grievous Bodily Harm.

He has been suspended by the RGP, pending investigation.

A 29 year old man sustained a laceration to his face in the incident, which required hospital treatment.
