With data centres the subject of public discussion this week, GBC spoke to the Minister for Economic Development, Sir Joe Bossano, about Artificial Intelligence - the driving force behind the growing demand for such facilities, which require vast amounts of computing power and energy.

Sir Joe, who will turn 87 this year, was born in 1939, just before the outbreak of the Second World War. Over nearly nine decades, he has witnessed profound technological change, including the advent of the internet.

Katy Docker asked him what he believes the emergence of Artificial Intelligence could mean for the future of society.

Sir Joe Bossano also discussed the proposed data centre, how Artificial Intelligence is expected to change the world of work, and why Gibraltarians may be less exposed to job losses than other economies.
