Sir Joe says data centre could make it economically viable for Gibraltar to import electricity

Sir Joe Bossano says the proposed data centre could also make it economically viable for Gibraltar to import electricity.

Following last week's power cut, the Chief Minister said Gibraltar is and should forever be an "electricity island".

However, during questions in Parliament on Thursday, the Minister for Inward Investment said the data centre's large energy demand would make an external power connection affordable in a way that would not otherwise be possible.
