The Levanter - love it or loathe it?

Love it or loathe it, the Levanter has dominated Gibraltar’s weather this month, although forecasts suggest a return to westerly winds could arrive by next week.

Climatological records show that August is a month that is typically Levanter heavy, as is the summer period more generally. 

This is thanks to pressure systems such as the Azores High and inland heat lows simmering over Iberia and Northwest Africa.
