A Valencian woman has travelled over 700 kilometres to make it to the Magistrate’s Court this morning to face a drink driving charge.

Ishbel Armstrong, who appeared for the Crown, explained how Maria Soraya Gragero Muñoz had been seen driving erratically, swerving side to side, after drinking too much alcohol. Gragero Muñoz appeared visibly upset in front of the Justice of the Peace, and said her intention was to move her car as it was parked badly, and that she’d never commit the offence again.

The Justice of the Peace explained that normally her driving licence would have been revoked, but given the cicrumstances of the case, and the fact that she’d need to drive herself back home, they instead fined her £500.
