Youth clubs take part in drug awareness workshops

Young people from local youth clubs have completed a series of drugs awareness workshops designed to educate them on the underlying reasons behind substance abuse and the impact it has on the community.

The initiative forms part of the Government's Youth Strategy.

Led by former Drug Strategy Coordinator, John Montegriffo, the workshops included topics such as peer pressure, stress and curiosity, as well as identifying commonly used substances and their risks.

The Minister for Youth with Responsibility for Drugs Rehabilitation, Christian Santos, said education is the first step towards building a healthier and more informed community.
