18-year-old arrested over Upper Rock fuel storage

An 18-year-old local man has been arrested in connection with the illegal storage of petrol in the Upper Rock Nature Reserve.

The arrest follows the seizure earlier this month of around 1,800 litres of petrol stored in 70 plastic containers inside a cave complex. Police say the man was arrested on suspicion of storing petrol above the legal limit of 20 litres. The investigation is ongoing.
