25 year-old denies possessing over 2,000 indecent images of children

A local man has appeared at the Magistrates' Court facing charges relating to indecent images of children.

25 year old Asadullah Nadeem Shuja pleaded not guilty to three counts of possession of over 2000 images. These relate to both video and still pictures.

The Vineyards resident also denied three charges of moving and storing these images.

The defendant was granted bail by the Courts and the case adjourned until July. In the meantime, he was ordered to have no unsupervised contact with a person under 18. Anyone responsible for a child he may spend time with, must be advised of the allegations he faces.

The charges follow his arrest in November 2024 and an investigation by the RGP's Digital Safety & Offender Management team.
