Active travel month participants log 88,000km

More than 800 people across Gibraltar signed up for Active Travel Month, for a collective total of close to 88,000km across four weeks.

The aim of the initiative was to replace short car and motorbike journeys with walking and cycling, as well as to encourage healthy lifestyles in general.

Francis Martinez wont the individual award, racking up almost 1,070 kilometres by himself, averaging an impressive 38 daily kilometres over the four week period.

The overall prize went to the Gibraltar Chronicle, and over 1,800 pounds were raised for the Cardiac Association and Diabetes Gibraltar.
