Busy Black Friday as police issue scam warning

It's that time of year when the festive season collides with Black Friday.

The deals ramp up and so does the spending.

The day started off slower than usual, but by the afternoon, Main Street was full of shoppers out to bag a bargain.

Royal Gibraltar Police officers were also in town - warning retailers to be alert for scams.

A spokesperson for the force said fraudsters will typically key-enter stolen or compromised card details into the Point of Sale machine using the "Card Not Present" option.  The retailer is often responsible for the resulting “Chargeback” when the genuine cardholder disputes the transaction.
