The business community will have an opportunity to hear directly from the Government on the treaty, this Wednesday 5th February. The Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Business Minister and Attorney General will lead a town hall at Grand Battery House at 2:30pm.

This will be to discuss the implications of the agreement and preparations for a smooth transition once it is in force. The Government representatives will also take questions.

The meeting comes on the back of a briefing held by the Business Minister and Attorney General to the Business Transition Advisory Group last week.

That meeting focused on transitional arrangements that will apply during the implementation phase. Number Six says the Town Hall is intended to extend this engagement to the wider business community.

Business Minister Gemma Arias Vasquez says the Government has moved quickly to brief key stakeholders on the implementation phase of the treaty. She says this meeting builds on that, and that businesses rightly want clarity on what comes next, how transition arrangements will work and how Government is preparing for implementation.

She says its very important businesses are kept fully informed of developments as we move from negotiation into implementation.

Anyone in the business community can attend by emailing MHCB@gibraltar.gov.gi to register.
