A new chapter for Gibraltar has begun.
On Tuesday night, at midnight, the UK-EU treaty was implemented provisionally, after having been signed earlier in the day in Brussels.
It brought an end to immigration controls at the frontier, and drew crowds to the area - perhaps enhanced by Spain's 2-0 World Cup semifinal victory against France.
There were chants - both derogatory, and complimentary.
The Chief Minister described it as "one of the most significant days in Gibraltar's modern history".
Fabian Picardo said the treaty "protects Gibraltar, safeguards our sovereignty and opens the way to a more secure and prosperous future."
