The Chief Minister says the UK-Gibraltar Concordat could be entered into next week ahead of the future UK-EU treaty implementation the week after.

During Thursday afternoon's parliamentary session, Fabian Picardo also defended the agreement against Opposition concerns that Schengen short-stay rules could deter British visitors, insisting the treaty would "supercharge" Gibraltar's tourism industry.

He pointed to Government tourism figures which, he said, support that claim.
