Cortes speaks of economic tension between tourism and environment

The Environment minister has taken part in a conference on Conservation and Sustainability in UK Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies.

The conference helps with the sharing of ideas and experiences.  Having attended these conferences for more than two decades, John Cortes says they have evolved over the years, with Climate Change a huge topic these days. 

He also says many of the small territories that take part are much more self-sufficient now. 

Mr Cortes also spoke to GBC about the economic tension between the tourism industry and environmental concerns.

Katy Docker first asked Mr Cortes what challenges small territories face when it comes to the environment.
