At the Supreme Court, the Crown has concluded its case against police officer Elliott Brooke.

The 34 year old denies two counts of sexual assault and one of attempted rape against a female police officer.

A former Royal Gibraltar Police officer, giving evidence via video link, told the court he received a message from the complainant in the early hours following the alleged incident, which he found unusual.

During cross examination, defence lawyer Shane Danino questioned why he had not reported the matter. The witness said his priority was to make the complainant feel comfortable and that she would be believed.

Mr Danino also referred to a message in which the complainant questioned whether what had happened amounted to attempted rape. The witness said this was the only time she had raised the issue with him.
