DPC misinformed and misled, objectors claim

Objectors to the Eastside Development say the decision to approve it cannot hold - arguing the Development and Planning Commission was misinformed and misled over major aspects of the project.

Speaking on Gibraltar Today, spokesperson for the Catalan Bay Senior Committee, Chris Riddell, added that Catalan Bay residents, who he calls the genuine stakeholders of this project, should have been consulted.

Both the Government and the developer, TNG Global, were offered an opportunity to attend Gibraltar Today, which they declined.

However, the Government did comment "the development is a key element of the Eastside Project, and will deliver lasting benefits for Gibraltar by removing an eyesore, enhancing Gibraltar's coastline and providing long-term economic and social benefits."
