Spanish Environmental group Verdemar claims “contaminated particles” may now be spreading through a protected marine zone after part of the breakwater at Gibraltar's Eastside Project was affected by heavy swells at the weekend.
However, a spokesperson for TNG has described this as a minor issue and says repair works are already underway.

The photographs supplied by Verdemar were published in the EuropaSur newspaper.
The group says it warned a month ago that the fill materials used in the Eastside Project posed environmental risks.
The article quotes TNG saying the contractor has met with Verdemar more than once and provided all necessary information, but Verdemar seems to prefer conflict or attention rather than environmental well being.
The dispute comes amid ongoing legal proceedings in Spain over environmental concerns.
In answers to GBC questions, TNG says this is a minor issue which has affected a section of a temporary breakwater which is being constructed.
It says this can happen when there are heavy swells during bad weather on a structure that is being constructed and has still not been completed.
The spokesperson said Repair works are already underway.
