Liverpool Supporters Club has declared all its members safe and unharmed following tonight's shocking incident, which saw a car plough into a crowd of spectators.

A spokesperson for the Gibraltar Government has told GBC, all those affected 'are in our thoughts'.

Many Gibraltarians had travelled to the city centre with their families, with some having been in the area moments before the collision.

Number Six said: "The celebration of Liverpool Football Club's Premiership win has been marred by the serious incident on the streets of Liverpool. Gibraltar has long, historic ties with Liverpool and many fans of the eponymous football club that was holding the victory parade today. We join in keeping the people affected and the people of Liverpool in our thoughts today as triumph turned to tragedy"

The Liverpool Supporter's Club told GBC: "Many of our members travelled to Liverpool for the match and/or the parade, which was an unforgettable experience.  However, our celebrations were marred by the tragic incident after the parade. Thankfully, we've confirmed that all our members and their families are safe and unharmed. We are deeply saddened and frustrated by the incident, and our thoughts are with those injured.  We hope for their speedy recovery and offer our sincerest sympathy to those affected."

Prime Minister, Keir Starmer described the scene as "appalling" whilst thanking the emergency services for their quick response.

The UK media has reported that a 53-year-old "white British male" has been arrested.

Investigations are ongoing, but Police say the incident is not thought to be terror related.

Gibraltar Liverpool Supporters' Club statement in full:

The Official Liverpool Supporters Club Gibraltar attended a prestigious black-tie dinner event at Anfield Stadium on Saturday night, celebrating the 20th anniversary of Liverpool FC's Champions League win in 2005. We were joined by 112 overseas supporters' clubs and Liverpool legend Rafa Benitez.

On Sunday, we witnessed an incredible scene as thousands of supporters flooded the streets of Liverpool, waving, chanting, and cheering for the Reds as they celebrated their league win. Many of our members traveled to Liverpool for the match and or parade, which was an unforgettable experience.

However, our celebrations were marred by a tragic incident after the parade. Despite the initial excitement of the parade, the majority of our members decided to head back to their hotels due to the long hours wait and heavy rain. Thankfully, after the incident we've confirmed that all our members and their families are safe and unharmed.

We're deeply saddened and frustrated by the incident, and our thoughts are with those injured. We hope for their speedy recovery and offer our sincerest sympathy to those affected.
