The Government is working on resolving problems with the exit from Morocco for green card holders.
The issue has arisen post-treaty implementation with word that all Gibraltar residents have access to Schengen not having filtered down to the Moroccan authorities yet.
This was announced by the Chief Minister at a ceremony at the City Hall.
The ceremony was for the Government to thank all those who, through the years, have made the ferry to Morocco possible.
The ferry will no longer operate post-treaty but all residents of Gibraltar, including green card holders, will be able to travel to and from Morocco via Spain.
The Chief Minister said this was not an end to Gibraltar's relationship with Morocco but merely a change.
The Government had subsidised the service to ensure it was always available and that it could continue to be affordable.
Generally on issues brought up by the Treaty, the Chief Minister said what people were reading on social media was only the tip of the iceberg adding this was to be expected with such major changes.
And he explained the issue Moroccans had been faced with when leaving Morocco.
The Minister with responsibility for relations with Morocco, John Cortes, said great progress had been made in establishing and promoting links and enriching the relationship.
