The latest wildfire to hit Tarifa may have been started intentionally.
The Junta de Andalucia's Antonio Sanz said this was the authorities' hypothesis.
He asked anyone who saw or sees anything suspicious to call 112.
Firefighters worked through the night, together with the Guardia Civil and the Policia Local in the area of Bolonia.
Almost 2,000 people were evacuated with 1000 spending the night in a school and a church.
No serious injuries have been reported.
