A 35-year old man has been sentenced to two years and three months' imprisonment after pleading guilty to four serious offences.
Christian Bonfante was charged with assaulting a woman causing actual bodily harm as well as strangling her.
He also admitted to common assault against an eight year old child and obstructing police following the incident that took place in August 2025.
A restraining order prohibiting him from contacting the woman was also granted, to remain in place for five years from today's date.
Time spent on remand since October 2025 will also count towards the sentence.
