Former Labour Party Leader, Ed Miliband, has been selected by the new Prime Minister as Foreign Secretary and assumes responsibility for Gibraltar.

He becomes the second of the Miliband brothers to take the role.

David Miliband was Foreign Secretary during the Tripartite Talks which resulted in the Cordoba Agreement in 2006.

Meanwhile, David Lammy is no longer part of the Cabinet.

Mr Lammy was heavily involved during the Gibraltar Treaty negotiations and was described by the Chief Minister as a real friend of the Rock.

He was, more recently, Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Secretary.
