Royal Gibraltar Regiment opens doors to future recruits during Insight Weekend

The Royal Gibraltar Regiment has hosted its second Insight Weekend, giving potential recruits a hands-on experience of military life and training.

A total of 44 participants attended the event. The group spent the weekend immersed in a range of military-themed activities, including physical training sessions, Explosive Ordnance Disposal lessons, tactical movement exercises, fieldcraft training and communication drills.

They also took part in paintballing and room clearance exercises, as well as observation, night vision demonstrations, camouflage and concealment lessons.

Recruitment Lead Colour Sergeant Craig Payne said the event gave participants an opportunity to experience the realities of military life within the Royal Gibraltar Regiment.

He said attendees challenged themselves physically and mentally throughout the weekend while developing teamwork and confidence, adding that it was encouraging to see the enthusiasm, commitment and positive attitude shown by those who took part.

The Royal Gibraltar Regiment says it plans to continue hosting Insight Weekends in the future as part of its ongoing recruitment and community engagement programme.
