Three new designs based on Mediterranean marine life have been added to the Nautilus Project’s t-shirt collections.
The George Burns Collection now includes a design inspired by the ribbed limpet Patella ferruginea – an endangered mollusc that lives on Gibraltar’s rocky coastlines.
The Eva Guillem Collection now includes the Common Octopus, as a reminder of the annual fishing ban and its importance to the species’ reproductive cycle.
Her collection has another addition: the Whale Shark, after its first confirmed sighting in the Alboran Sea this March.
The Nautilus Project says while this species is not native to the Strait, and lives in tropical waters, its appearance along with other warm water species reflects the increase in sea surface temperatures from climate change.
