The Chief Minister will give his budget address at 10:30 on Monday morning.

It will be delivered against a backdrop of the clearest economic outlook post-Brexit.

Midterm budget addresses tend to be unexciting but this one will be delivered as opportunities for growth, following a treaty agreement, beckon.

It follows pressure from unions on a pay rise for the public sector, which has not seen a substantial wage increase since 2019.

And will the public Sector get a pay rise? We know the Chief Minister has told Union representatives the Government is considering a percentage pay increase for the public sector as a whole, as opposed to a rise based on a fixed rate. So the answer would be yes- but by how much and will the figure be acceptable to the Union membership, who will be ballotted after the announcement.

The increase is also expected to be banded to best favour those on lower income.

Benefits, public sector pensions and state pensions are expected to increase.  As is, the minimum wage- if the Chief Minister respects his policy of increasing it every year.

Fabian Picardo is also expected to update Parliament on the growth in GDP.  And, is expected to show that growth continued even over the period of Treaty negotiations.

No changes are expected on import duty as part of the budget measures as these would be rolled in on implementation of a Treaty.

GBC will bring you the session live on Television, Online on gbc.gi and on Radio Gibraltar Plus.

There will be a first opportunity for budget analysis on Gibraltar Today at 1pm when we're expected to be joined by Fabian Picardo.
