16 hour disruption to water supply at Windmill Hill Prison now resolved, says Government

A 16 hour disruption to the water supply at Windmill Hill Prison has now been resolved.

The prison lost water with contingency arrangements activated and bottled water having to be distributed, however the supply is now back up and running. 

The Government told GBC drinking water was made available immediately through bottled water.

The issue was reportedly down to an interruption to the mains supply.

The Government spokesperson says if the interruption had been extended, water bowsers would have been deployed.

The Government told GBC all inmates have continued to receive their essential daily water requirements., with contingency measures covering staff and inmates at all times.
