AFH raises concerns about 'serious irregularities' in Govt’s allocation of rental flats

Action for Housing has raised concerns about what it describes as serious irregularities in the Government’s allocation of rental flats.

The group says housing stock is extremely limited and allocations must follow the chronological order of the waiting lists, except in genuinely exceptional cases.

It says it has recently identified three instances where applicants were given flats despite bypassing between nine and fifteen others on the list, without what it considers valid justification.

Action for Housing stresses it is not criticising the applicants, but highlighting flaws in a system many already consider unfair and inconsistent.
