GPs have undertaken a two day course on improving early cancer diagnosis.
The sessions have focused on pancreatic cancer, which is often uncovered at a late stage. The training has been funded by charity Pancreatic Cancer Awareness.
A visiting team from NHS Surrey and Sussex Cancer Alliance led the Continuing Professional Development sessions.
Early diagnosis means greater chance of survival, so improving the ability to detect hard to read cancers, like pancreatic will ultimately save lives.
The training has also covered some of the red flags with other cancers
The training sharpens doctor's instincts, but the very first step comes from you taking charge of your health. If something is amiss, make sure to see your GP.
