The law firm Charles Gomez and Co says it notes the Chief Minister’s remarks in Parliament that since 2011, payments totalling £1.2 million have been made to it by the Government.
It says a substantial proportion of those funds were for third parties: in certain instances, upon the specific instruction of the Chief Minister’s Office itself.
It says these were effected in the proper course of the firm’s professional duties and in accordance with the instructions received from Government.
Charles Gomez and Co says any suggestion that the firm was the ultimate recipient or beneficiary of the entirety of those funds is inaccurate.
It invites the Chief Minister to set the record straight and tell the people of Gibraltar how much his own law firm has received from the Government of Gibraltar and Government connected companies since 2011.
