Director of Public Health says no significant concern about rise in Covid cases

Covid cases are on the rise, although the Director of Public Health has made clear that there is no cause for concern at the moment.

All the cases identified by the GHA in May have been patients that were admitted to St Bernard's for others reasons and then tested positive, as opposed to being hospitalised due to Covid symptoms.

Dr Helen Carter is still receiving weekly reports from the hospital lab, and although this strain of the virus appears to be 'more transmissible', no patients had serious symptoms, and none required oxygen.
