Eight members of House of Lords call on Gibraltarians to reject new abortion law

A group of eight members of the UK's House of Lords have written a letter to the people of Gibraltar, asking them to reject the new abortion law.

The letter says this referendum is not about giving women life-saving medical treatment, which they say is already provided for in Gibraltar law, but about intentionally depriving unborn children of their right to life. The pro-life peers argue that the practice of abortion has had devastating consequences over the last 50 years, and ask Gibraltar to vote no in Thursday's referendum.
