There is a norovirus outbreak at Elderly Residential Services.

The Health Authority says it's suspected to have come from a visitor to ERS who had symptoms of the virus.

The Director of Public Health, Dr Helen Carter, told Radio Gibraltar the outbreak is under control.

Norovirus affects the digestive system, and can be dangerous for the clinically vulnerable - with the GHA urging people to help keep their loved ones safe, and stop the virus spreading through the community.

If you have diarrhoea or have been vomiting, you should avoid visiting the GHA or ERS for two days after your symptoms have stopped.

And if your symptoms persist or worsen, you should call 111 for advice.
