The Government claims there's been a notable improvement in the availability of GP appointments at the Primary Care Centre since reforms were introduced in February.

Changes have included a dedicated sick note line and a new pre-appointment telephone call reminder system, with further policies lined up.

Have you managed to get an appointment at the Primary Care Centre recently?

The Health Minister claims it should be a lot easier than it has been previously. Gemma Arias Vasquez says a number to the management of appointments have allowed the PCC to maintain availability until later in the morning.

There are approximately 650 appointments available everyday, split up into advance and same day appointments.

Greater availability is a welcome change, but there are still other area that need to be looked at.

A further policy in the pipeline is one that would ensure patients are called with results, even when there's no issue.
