The Government is cracking down on what is describes as a ‘growing proliferation’ of unauthorised advertising banners across Gibraltar.

It says any unauthorised adverts must be removed by their owners within two weeks. After which, any remaining banners will be removed by Government.

In a statement, it says all the display of all adverts require consent from the DPC to ensure they are appropriate in scale, design and location. Advertisement consent applications must be submitted via the E-Planning portal.

The Government highlights banners on railings and other public infrastructure - describing them as having a detrimental impact on how Gibraltar looks, adding in some cases they can pose a distraction to road users.
