The GSD has described the suggestion that the Chief Minister could bring a motion to Parliament criticising the McGrail Inquiry conclusions as “scandalous”

Opposition Leader Keith Azopardi says it's stunning to already hear the Chief Minister say he is prepared to contemplate a Motion to criticise parts of the Report, and presumably its Chairman, in the same way that he has done with the Principal Auditor.

He says it shows a disdain for processes even commenced by the Government itself.

Mr Azopardi warned that Mr Picardo’s comments send a signal that those holding the government to account “should proceed with caution”, calling it symptomatic of a GSLP mantra of “you are either with me or against me”.

The GSD said this is yet another reason the government must be replaced.
