The Gibraltar Social Democrats will consider a proposal to grant Life Membership of its Executive to former leader Daniel Feetham at its next Annual General Meeting.

Party leader Keith Azopardi will present the motion with the backing of the Party Executive, citing Mr Feetham’slongstanding contribution over two decades as a senior member, Minister and Leader of the Opposition. In his proposal, Mr Azopardi highlights Mr Feetham’s leadership during a challenging period following the party’s departure from Government in 2011, and his continued support in recent years.

The AGM will also include proposed amendments to the party’s constitution and conclude with elections to the Executive.

Nominations to stand for election close on 27 April and the vote is set to take place at the AGM on 4 June at the John Mackintosh Hall.

Mr Azopardi says the new Executive will play a key role in shaping policy and selecting candidates ahead of the next General Election.
