The GSD says while the Agreement appears to provide greater personal mobility for Gibraltar residents within the EU, this comes in exchange for what it describes as the cession of certain powers, information and economic levers to the EU and Spain.

It says this includes roles for Spanish law enforcement authorities in specific areas.

The GSD maintains that any potential benefits must be carefully balanced against the risks, including social, political and financial implications, as well as compared with the prospect of a “no deal” outcome.

The party says it will set out its full position once its Executive has met to consider the detail.

Jonathan Sacramento spoke to Opposition Leader, Keith Azopardi.
