Health Minister says cancelled surgeries an 'isolated issue' due to staff absences

The Health Minister has said the government does not consider there to be staff shortages in the health authority.

Shadow Minister for Health, Joelle Ladislaus, had highlighted the cancellation of a number of elective surgeries earlier this month. She said these were symptomatic of more deep rooted, long term issues at the GHA

In response, Gemma Arias Vasquez has said the cancellations were an isolated issue and that the surgeries have been promptly rescheduled.
