Mediterranean Steps has reopened to the public.

It had been closed for safety works after the recent rockfall.

The Government says the access route has been made safe, with temporary protective fencing installed.

It says permanent repairs to the retaining wall will begin as soon as practicable, and will be carefully planned to minimise disruption.

The current safety measures will remain in place until the permanent works are completed.

The Government asks visitors to be careful, follow all signage and instructions on site, and respect any temporary restrictions while works are underway.
