Outbreaks of Meningitis B among university students in the UK earlier this year have prompted a new vaccination initiative for students heading to the UK to study this autumn.
Public Health Gibraltar and the GHA are offering a catch-up programme to eligible students, urging them to get protected before they leave.
The vaccination programme will be delivered through dedicated clinics at the Primary Care Centre on the 19th and 21st of August.
Appointments will run from half past eight in the morning until half past four, with current university students being contacted by text.
The vaccine will be administered in two doses, at least four weeks apart.
Students returning to the UK before their second dose can complete the course through the NHS, while those who have already received a first dose privately should bring evidence of it to their appointment.
The scheme is available to 18 to 24-year-olds travelling overseas for university or recognised study.
Students must have proof of their place, and those awaiting A-Level results should wait for a confirmed offer before booking.
Anyone who is unwell or taking antibiotics on the day should not attend the clinic.
