New tool to help meet efficiency targets showcased at conference

A new building design tool has been launched to help meet energy efficiency targets in new developments.

Environment Minister John Cortes said the tool will help professionals meet climate goals.

Created with UK climate tech firm IES and funded by the Climate Action Fund, the Dynamic Simulation Modelling tool simulates how buildings perform hour by hour.

This advanced software gives local architects and engineers a clearer way to design buildings that meet Gibraltar’s strict energy rules, especially important in the Rock’s dense, sun-exposed environment.

It was showcased at the Aspire sustainable building conference.
