You may have noticed the parliament building has undergone a transformation recently.

Not just a coat of paint – there has been a full refurbishment of the exterior.

When renovations began it was found that more work was needed than originally planned.

Cement has now been replaced, stonework repaired and cracked balustrades removed.

The external facelift is just phase one, with renovations inside now underway.

Essential upgrades are planned to improve functionality, security, and accessibility.

This includes a new lift, roof terrace, offices and boardrooms, along with dedicated storage and server areas to meet the demands of a modern life.

Katy Docker spoke to the man behind the plans, Carl Viagas.
