Picardo in Madrid - Brave new steps being taken to normalise political relationship, says CM

The Chief Minister has said Wednesday's meeting with Jose Manuel Albares, the Spanish Foreign Minister, is part of a post-negotiation world where brave new steps are being taken to normalise the relationship at a political level.

Fabian Picardo became the first Chief Minister to meet bilaterally with a Foreign Minister in Madrid.

He said today’s meeting focused on implementation and the priority is turning the treaty into reality.

Both sides discussed the political progress made since their last meeting in Brussels, as they prepare for the treaty’s provisional application on the fifteenth of July.
